Spring 2025 NACPA Certificate Program for those Moving to Human Resources Responsibilities in a Catholic Workplace

The dual master's level CEU program is designed for human resource and business manager professionals assuming roles within parish, diocesan, or religious congregation Churches. This program, which spans several webinars and discussions from January to April 2025, aims to support professionals transitioning to Church human resource administration while emphasizing unique considerations within a Catholic workplace. Participants will gain resources to better fulfill their role in advancing the Kingdom of God.
Program outcomes include the ability to: - Understand the Church’s organizational structure. - Apply canon law principles to HR administration. - Integrate Gospel values into HR functions. - Utilize Catholic social teachings, such as those outlined in "Just Treatment for Those Who Work for the Church," second edition, in policy development and other HR initiatives. - Apply HR principles uniquely within a church organizational context.
FORMAT
- It is anticipated that this course can be completed in 20 hours.
- Five two-hour long live virtual sessions include a 30-minute real-time structured discussion with the instructor.
- All sessions will be held at 2PM - 4PM ET.
- Each session will be followed by discussion boards and assigned readings. (Guest speakers will respond to questions from participants.)
- Final assignment.
- Each participant, if he/she wishes, will be assigned a mentor from January–April 2025. This is optional.
Dual credits are offered: 2 master's level CEUs through Neumann University and four recertification credits through HRCI and SHRM (pending).
