Letter from the President: 2020 Convocation

March 14, 2020

Dear Members and Supporters of NACPA,

After considerable review, the Board of Directors has made the difficult but necessary decision to cancel the 2020 convocation in Albuquerque May 3-5.

We are taking this action out of an abundance of concern for the well being of our attendees and their families.

NACPA wishes to extend a special note of gratitude to the Archdiocese of Santa Fe. We have worked closely with their leadership over the past couple of years in planning this meeting and have counted on their exceptional collaboration.

We are particularly grateful to Archbishop John Wester for his gracious hospitality and to Cathy Salcido for her unwavering support.

We also extend our thanks to our plenary session speakers—Keith Friede, Donna Heckler and Gloria Purvis—as well as the workshop speakers, our loyal exhibitors and donors, the NACPA planning committees and all those who have registered to attend. Countless hours have been expended by these and other supporters to make this an exceptional gathering.

Going forward, our primary goal is to keep everyone safe, healthy—and connected. We are pleased to see that so many members are using the NACPA listserv to share ideas, experiences and best practices in dealing with the coronavirus.

We look forward to celebrating our golden anniversary convocation with you in 2021. With your help, we will use that important benchmark to make the 50th the best ever.

For now, please know that you and your colleagues and families are foremost in our prayers.

Sincerely,

Rev. Edward T. Pratt
